Trampolines have come a long way since 1934, when George Nissen, a student at America’s University of IOWA, first put his idea into motion, creating the world’s first trampoline.

The most famous Trampoline club in the area is the Oxford University Trampoline Club. Oxford University, situated in the picturesque city of Oxford, has one of the UK’s finest trampoline clubs, competing in a range of trampoline competitions, developing their trampoline skills and routines in the heart of Oxford.

Oxford University Trampoline Club

Oxford University Trampoline Club hold their training sessions in Iffley Road, Oxford, and sessions are open to potential members who would like to attend once or twice before deciding whether or not to join the team. The sessions take place on Sunday’s from 9:00am – 11:00am, Tuesday’s from 8:30pm – 10:30pm and Thursday’s from 4:30pm – 6:00pm. You don’ need to be an Oxford University student in order to become a team member, although you do get a light discount on the membership fee.

Oxford University Trampoline Club are always looking for new members, and they stress that trampolining is not a sport for girls, they would welcome the attendance of male members. You can contact Oxford University by ringing 07754 115 452.

Oxfordshire also has several non-academic trampoline clubs, which are also recognised as some of the best in the UK.

Trampolining is a very popular sport in Oxfordshire, trampoline events within the county usually attract a fairly large number of spectators to support their local teams.

Banbury is a very well-known town both around Oxfordshire and all over the UK. Banbury attracts thousands of visitors each week due to extensive shopping facilities and its transport link to Birmingham, Oxford and London.

Wade Gymnastics Club:

Wade Trampoline Club was founded in 1985 and has grown significantly each year, and today they boast more than 650 members. Wade Trampoline Club welcome new members, both male and female, and hold sessions just outside of Banbury.
